Attention Educators of Boston!

EXPLO’s Critical Making Camp is coming to your neighborhood in July

Dates: July 15–19, 2019

Become a Maker this Summer!

As students face an ever-evolving future of uncertainty and complexity, educators who are adopting a maker mindset are making the biggest impact for their learners. At our Critical Making Camp, you will learn a practical framework for this type of curriculum to take back to your school and your students. Not only will you gain valuable hands-on maker skills from our experienced classroom educators and makers, but you’ll receive guidance and feedback on your own project ideas. Take a step toward a better maker environment in your classroom.

The traditional thought process when assessing a maker project has been judging the final creation. This way of thinking doesn’t go far enough to address how much learners do during a project. Students plan with intention, design and test ideas, iterate based on observations, reflect on their design, and share knowledge with their peers in order to move the work and the class forward. And if you don’t judge all aspects of the making process equally, we hinder our learners from reaching their max potential.

Our camp is the ideal way to infuse making into existing projects, or generate something completely new. After the one-week program, you’ll leave ready to inspire student creativity and engagement. What are you waiting for?

I’m going back to my school with the idea that technology doesn’t make the program — teaching makes the program. And I learned how to be a better teacher here.
